- About the program
Turkish Red Crescent has established its first Community Center in Şanlıurfa on 20th January 2015. Readily, 15 Community Centers which are established in Şanlıurfa, İstanbul (Anadolu ve Avrupa yakası), Konya, Ankara, Kilis, Bursa, İzmir, Adana, Mersin, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kayseri, Kahramanmaraş, and Mardin provide services both to the local population and displaced population.
- The General Purpose of Program
The key objective of Community-Based Migration Programs is to contribute to the community resilience and culture of peaceful co-existence by empowering the psychological, social and economical well-being of all vulnerable groups and individuals.
Under the umbrella of Community Centers; Adaptation to Turkey training (information about legal rights and humanitarian services), Turkish language education, vocational training, individual and group psychosocial support activities, group therapy, individual therapy, drama for children, music and workshops, child and youth-friendly space activities, health information and orientation studies, informative meetings for women, handicrafts, clothing production, art and design training, job orientation, fieldworks (needs assessment etc.), case follow up, protection activities are performed.
The works towards orientation services, educational activities, livelihood development works, nutrition and health service, social activities, advocacy and protection activities, voluntary activities, efforts towards social adaptation; are provided and the posterity is supported through child and youth-friendly spaces.
